Rhett and Jessica Garrard are no strangers to owning a swim school. In 2016, they opened a Swim and Scuba Academy outside of Atlanta, Georgia. They didn't follow the rules of all other swim schools.

 

Actually, they did the opposite.

 

 Unlike many larger swim schools that teach multiple children at once,  Rising Tides Swim Academy was built on a different philosophy. We believe every child deserves individualized attention, which is why we offer private one-on-one lessons and Baby & Me classes.

With private instruction, our coaches have the opportunity to truly get to know each swimmer—their personality, learning style, likes, and even their fears. By incorporating those into each lesson, we build trust, strengthen the coach-student relationship, and create an environment where children feel confident, supported, and excited to learn.

We believe every detail matters—from the personalized instruction we provide to the quality of the water our families swim in. That's why we invested in an advanced mineral sanitization system that works alongside carefully monitored chlorine levels to provide exceptionally clean, crystal-clear, and comfortable water. Many families notice softer-feeling water, less chlorine odor, and a more enjoyable swimming experience.

Due to our approach in the swim industry, this allowed all ages and any disability to enter our school with the freedom of knowing they received all of the attention in their lesson, which provided comfort to the student and the family.

Owner, Coach Rhett created a curriculum that started with the most basic, yet most effective swim skill that could save anyone's life.

Once our students master this skill, we build on to more effective swim skills to our final result of jumping in the water fully clothed! Thats right, you save yourself for the whole lesson!

We sold that amazing business in 2024 after deciding to "YOLO" and move to the beach!  We packed our kids and dogs and took the plunge to Jupiter, Florida. It was HOME immediately.
